Time is a Funny Thing
As our team was reflecting on our experiences here in Czech, several people commented on how it feels like the time has gone so fast (can’t believe we’re leaving already!) and yet how it also feels like that first weekend in Ostrava was at least a month ago!
Our last day in Pardubice also flew by, yet felt long because it was full of so many good things:
We had one last adventure with the Shubin family to a castle outside of Pardubice, exploring more of the rich history of the area and enjoying being together. (For some of us, the goats at the petting zoo may have been the highlight 😉)
In the afternoon, we spent a last hour with Michal and Lenka—leaders of the church planting team for Brána Pardubice. We ate ice cream (zmrzlina!) shared our hearts, and prayed over them and their ministry. They’re doing a week-long English camp in two weeks out in the mountains. Please pray for them as they prepare, and pray that God would use that week to bring each person closer to himself and to build his church here in this city.
We ended the day with takeout at the Shubin flat—along with a time of prayer for their family and ministry, and then some worship in song. (Anna and Connor expressed how much they had taken for granted being able to sing with other believers in English—and what a sweet joy it was to be able to do so together!)
Our team also spent some time debriefing and reflecting on our experiences—look for a separate post soon where we’ll share some of that with you!
In the meantime, most of the team is on their way home. Please pray for safe and smooth travels, and for wisdom and grace to navigate anything unexpected.
You can also pray for Donna and me as we are both staying in Czech longer for ongoing ministry with friends we’ve each made on past Czech missions trips in different places. Pray that we could be an encouragement and continue to share the love of Jesus with these dear ones!
